One of the oldest and most beautiful taverns in Madrid. Besides a war Rioja by the glass, the owner usually has several American wines, Argentine or Australian. The Tapa is cooked and the “raciones”(portions) of very good quality (highlight cod fritters and corned beef). Price, balanced.
So far the good news. Because all this depends on the mood of the owner (except that the tavern is pretty and old). The counter is very narrow, and if your are too many you will have to take a table. You can go at 22:15 and already be closed because it had no people. And foreign wine is not an exquisite foreign import, but the equivalent of our mass consume wines. How ever it’s good be able to compare them with the Spanish wines in the same 6€ price range of a wine bottle.
Still worth going.
