A wine region yet to be discovered.

900 years of winemaking tradition in the fertile region of Las Vegas, where the rivers Tajuña, Jarma, Henares, Manzanares and Tajo converge.

Environmentally protected territories that for centuries were exclusive suppliers to a newborn capital with an insatiable thirst for wine that grew alongside its population.

They have always maintained their place in the most traditional and faithful taverns of the capital.

In the towns where these wines are produced, the wineries continue the legacy of several family generations irreducible in their tradition, managing, in recent years, to garner international awards for their quality, conquering the palates of wine lovers from all over the world.

Example of a winery route to Madrid Wine Region

This itinerary is an example.  The wineries and the order may change depending on the dates and availability. However they are all local, authentic from the Madrid wine region and have the highest quality standards of Gourmet Madrid.

For a start:

The meeting point for the departure of the Madrid Winery Tour is: The front door of the Claridge Hotel cafeteria (next to the hotel main door). Plaza del Conde de Casal 6. Departure is at 9:30 a.m. Please be there 10 minutes before for check-in. Nearest metro Conde de Casal (Line 6) There you will meet the guide and your tour companions with whom you will share the experience.

Departure:

We will ride in the Minivan or Mini Bus and we will go to the first winery while the guide comments on facts and anecdotes about the Madrid wine region. The approximate duration of the trip to the first winery is 45 minutes, during which time you can enjoy the landscape.

First winery:

We will make a stop at the vineyard if weather allows, admiring the robust vines that are over than 80 years old, characteristic of the Madrid region. There we will meet the owners who will accompany us to their winery where we will taste their wines and they will talk to us about organic viticulture. Several wines will be tasted with appetizers and we will be ready to continue to the next winery.

Second winery:

We will arrive at another town in Madrid where we will visit a winery that continues to make wine in clay pots that are over a hundred years old. The owner of the winery will tell us about the wine process, the history of his family and we will once again taste his wines and some typical recipes from the town. Then we will go to the third stop.

Third winery:

The Fifth generation of winemakers awaits us in the last winery, with centuries-old caves in which their wines age. We will try their white, red and sparkling wines with some typical local dish and some snacks.

Return to Madrid:

After the relaxed visit to the third winery, the return to Madrid begins. All that’s left to do is relax and enjoy returning to the same place you left from.
The Community of Madrid has a protected natural environment of great beauty with towns that can be a good alternative to the city to enjoy a day out of the city.

We had an excellent tour of Madrid wineries with Enrique!
He was very knowledgeable about the region, the wines, and the history of the wineries we visited.
Overall great guide and very friendly. It was incredible meeting the winemakers at each winery we visited.
Seeing the clay pots used for fermentation at the old wineries that have been making wine for generations was a highlight.
Each stop included some meats and cheeses with generous pours of wine.
Highly recommended!

Great experience and great wineries outside of Madrid.
My favorite by far was the Morate winery.
It was amazing learning from his family approach to winemaking across generations.
Alfonso was amazing, kept us informed of everything we would be doing along the way and while at each location.
I highly recommend this adventure.
Reviews Wine Tours Madrid
Perfect tour! What can I say? We were a group of 10 and we did the short excursion tour where we visited 3 different wineries in Madrid Region.
The tour was very well organised, professional and on time. Our tour guide Jorge was PERFECT, very kind to all of us, he would answer all of our questions and he was at our service for anything we needed.
It was so much fun and the highlight of our trip in Madrid! Even if it was a bit cold at that day it didn’t matter at all.
The wines we tasted were really unique and tasty, and each winery was different from one another.
10/10, worth every penny.
