My husband and I have been to many vineyards and several day trips to wine regions around the world.
The day trip to the Ribera del Duero is the best we’ve ever been on… with 3 very different wineries, excellent wine (it’s worth tasting others on menu for additional fee), and an experienced wine maker, Ismael, as your guide. The winery tours introduced us to a range of methods and techniques for creating unique and differentiated flavors from (mainly) Tempranillo grapes.
Some of what we heard was very new to us and it became very educational. Ismael added to the learning by answering our specific questions as the experience sparked our curiosity.
And he took us to a wonderful place for lunch in a small village, working with our vegetarian diets.
All in all, we highly recommend this day trip with Ismael.
We’ll never forget our time with him in the Ribera del Duero!

I took the Ribera del Duero DO tour in July 2023, and words can’t describe the quality of this experience.
Ismael, our guide has a deep knowledge of wine and I had an amazing day talking with him and learning about this beautiful and essential wine region. What’s more, he is a hospitable and warm host, the kind of professional who loves his job and for him the travel industry is not just a way to make a living but a way to live and share with travelers knowledge and the best his land offers.
We visited three wineries, which were hand picked with a concept: to introduce us to different aspects of the wine production and do taste the most profound examples of each.
We also had a lunch break in a beautiful town during siesta hours which I loved as walking towards the restaurant noone was out but surprise-surprise the traditional restaurant we ate was vibrant and full with people, offered scrumptious local dishes and had an amazing underground cellar.
Must say that the last winery we visited, escalated the experience and for me it was an emotional way to complete this tour as I was deeply touched by the quality work and the philosophical approach of the producer, who I was very fortunate to meet there.
Why emotional? Because wine is something much more than an indulging experience. It’s a way to understand the entity of nature, culture and people’s mentality.
And as this tour covered all of the above, I should say that this is an excellent experience that I wish all people have!
Ismael, I’m greatful, thank you once again and I hope we’ll meet again in this or other wine lands for more talks and tastings!
